One Best Thing: Express Yourself
The most important components of the project are inspiration, applications, and publication. For example, with inspiration as educators we should want to provide opportunities to help our students understand who they are and what is unique and special about them. Part two of the project is Application - once student have complied their list of five characteristics the teacher will take a photo of each student in front of a green screen or solid-color background. The teacher should have the students look to the side in order to get their profile. To personalize their portrait you should have the students stand in a way that best reflects their personality. Then the teacher should transfer the photos from the camera roll into a specific photo library for your students pictures. Then you need to send all of the photos through AirDrop, Dropbox, email, etc, to you students computers or devices. Then with teacher instruction student can begin editing the photo and creating a transparent background. Next, the students will use the photo editing App WordFoto on a Mac or iPad and start adding their five charateristics. The last part of the project is publication of their work. The teacher will have the students share their project using Co-memories as well as send the final project back so that the teacher can combine in one iMovie. The students can suggest their favorite song or use the voice over option and say something they would like to say while their picture is show. A teacher could use this project for a variety of creative purposes. Sharing the class iMovie in and online with the school and on their class webpage would offer a great way for the students to get to know themselves better as well as each other.
