Shelly Fryer
Shelly Fryer is a “Teacher, Author, Speakers, and an Advocate for Children.” She teacher 3rd and 4th grade students and works specifically for homeless children. Her main passion is “to help her students love learning. She also believes that students need to recognize that their voice matter and they should be shared. She also has very own active classroom website to help teachers from all over come together share new creative ideas. She was also nominated PBS Digital Innovator in 2015.
She has also been involved with Oklahoma A Plus Schools (@okaplus) in which she works to bring arts integration strategies to the classroom so that students can experience different forms of art. She also works as a teacher and leading workshops. The focus of her work with A Plus Schools is - the Arts, Curriculum, Experimental Learning, Multiple Learning Pathways, Enriched Assessment, Collaboration, Infrastructure, Climate. A Plus helps enhance teacher’s lessons as well as enhances students learning. A Plus helps integrate content and curriculum in engaging ways. I like what Shelly Fryers said - that instead of just “putting students on an app” she works to reinforce skills. Shelly Fryers believes technology tools should be used to enhance and expland student creativity and I couldn’t agree more. Students learn so much about themselves when they are challenged to make and create. |
